Archival & Special Collections Lifecycle Review

Context
Archival and special collections require ongoing lifecycle management to ensure responsible stewardship, preservation prioritization, and appropriate use of storage space.

Contribution

I conducted a lifecycle review and deselection assessment focused on duplication analysis, preservation needs, and long-term stewardship considerations. The project required careful evaluation of institutional priorities and responsible decision-making regarding retention and disposal.

Outcome
The review supported more sustainable management of rare and archival materials and clarified preservation priorities within the collection.

Reflection
This work deepened my understanding of collections as evolving entities requiring periodic reassessment. Responsible deselection and lifecycle evaluation are essential components of sustainable stewardship.
