My professional experience has been shaped working within collaborative academic library environments, where I see thoughtful stewardship of collections, strong systems knowledge, and collegial partnership as essential to contemporary collection development.
At Acadia University, I have engaged in collection lifecycle review, course reserves strategy, open educational resource integration, resource sharing, and workflow development during complex systems change. These experiences have reinforced my belief that effective collections work requires not only fiscal responsibility and data-informed decision making, but also meaningful consultation with faculty and a willingness to respond to evolving student needs.
I approach collections librarianship as both strategic and relational work — balancing budgets and licenses while fostering access, diversity, equity and inclusion with long-term sustainability. My goal is to contribute to academic library communities that value collaboration, collegiality, and continued stewardship of knowledge.
